Our standard programs for secondary students generally feature a focus on service learning, as visiting US students partner with local peers to perform community service at a carefully-selected location.
Programs are designed to meet a genuine community need, while encouraging cross-cultural socialization and an understanding of contemporary and human rights issues in the host country. Nine of our eleven programs offer an intensive foreign-language development opportunity.
Please inquire about these standard offerings, and about how we can customize one or more of them to meet your school’s unique needs. We have “internationalized” service learning for several NAIS member schools, and will gladly broaden your school’s commitment as well, on request.
- South Africa 17-Day Program (PDF)
This 17-day program takes place in multiple locales.
We also offer a shorter, modified version in Cape Town only.
