Our two principals possess a combination of professional experience, regional knowledge, and business and research skills that we believe is unparalleled.

Fungai Kanogoiwa grew up and studied in Zimbabwe, and has worked extensively in Southern Africa and South America.

Fungai served as consultant to the conference planning industry before forming Alterra Global Education Initiatives.

Fungai consults comprehensively with clients representing secondary- and university-level educational institutions. Her recent and current client work includes:

• Center for the Book in the Library of Congress
• Emory and Georgetown Universities
• National Association of Black MBAs
• National Association of Independent Schools
• Independent High Schools from Georgia and Maryland

Aaron Casey brings a variety of research and analysis skills to Alterra. A consultant to the US Congress during much of the 1990s, Aaron has applied his policy knowledge to the development of high-quality service learning and professional growth experiences for a range of group clients.

Recently, Aaron has focused his work on these major clients:

• American School in London
• Colorado Council of the International Reading Association
• National Association of Independent Schools
• Northfield Mount Hermon School

Aaron has lived and worked in South Africa , and has developed programs in Mexico, South America, and the Caribbean .
